AHSCCS: Adaptive Hybrid Secondary Storage Systems for Cloud Computing Scenarios

AHSCCS: Adaptive Hybride Sekundärspeichersysteme für Cloud Computing-Szenarien

The objective of the AHSCCS project is to develop an adaptive hybrid secondary storage system that provides cost-efficient high-performance data storage for Cloud Computing scenarios. This is achieved by combining a holistic system architecture with dynamic, fine-grained, and workload-dependent adaptation of the data organization considering both the application requirements as well as the specific characteristics of the used heterogeneous storage devices, for example, hard disk drives and solid-state drives. The developed solutions are extensively validated by simulations and evaluated in a realistic testbed running on an HPC cluster.
