DFG-Forschungsgroßgerät zur Erforschung Prozessorientierter Architekturen

Zusammen mit den Lehrstühlen Wirtschaftsinformatik, Softwaretechnik und Theorie der Programmiersprachen hat der Lehrstuhl AVA ein DFG-Forschungsgroßgerät zur Erforschung prozessorientierter Architekturen eingeworben. Das Großgerät besteht aus einem Cluster mit 20 Servern, die über 56 GBit/s-Infiniband und 10 GBit/s-Ethernet miteinander vernetzt sind.  Insgesamt stehen damit mehr als 500 nebenläufige Threads, mehr als 2 TByte Hauptspeicher und 68 Solid State Disks für die Erforschung rechen-, speicher- und I/O-intensiver Aufgaben zur Verfügung. Der Lehrstuhl AVA wird das Großgerät vor allem für die Forschung in den Bereichen Event-Driven Architectures (EDA), energieeffizientes Cloud-Computing, adaptive Nebenläufigkeitsstrategien für Applikationsserver und adaptive Hochleistungssekundärspeichersysteme nutzen.
